Centrifugal Clutches

A clutch is a mechanical connection that delivers a driving force from one mechanism to another, usually be way of a crankshaft. In a centrifugal clutch, a set of concentric shafts is used, with the driving mechanism on the inside and the mechanism to be driven connected to the outer shaft. As the inner shaft rotates, centrifugal force pushes out a set of weighted arms that engage the outer shaft.
