Flange Adapter
A flange is a lip, plate, or rim attached to a component to provide a bearing surface and the ability to make a mechanical connection to another part. A flange adapter is a connector with a flange, often used to make a connection in piping systems. The use of flange adapters is widespread across many different industries and applications; therefore, many different designs exist specific to the application of the adapter.
